Vyshnika Sriskantharajah

Vyshnika joined the Gibbons Lab as an intern with a B.S. in Biotechnology and a certificate in Biomedical Informatics, while also working part-time at RAIN Incubator as a Data Analyst to help with IRB management. She finished working on a collaboration between RAIN and Pierce County’s DOH where they looked for active transmission of COVID using wastewater epidemiology. These experiences made her realize the impact of having data-driven solutions to healthcare problems. At ISB, Vyshnika worked on machine learning approaches to predicting recurrent CDI from EHRs. Vyshnika went on to study at the University of Texas to complete her master’s in health informatics with a specialization in data science.
