- Biography
While working in the Gibbons Lab, Dr. Levine was a clinical fellow in pediatric gastroenterology at Seattle Children’s Hospital and at ISB. Dr. Levine graduated from Harvard with a BA in Slavic Languages and Literatures and earned her MD at the University of Pittsburgh in 2017. After completing her residency in pediatrics at Brown University in Providence, RI, she moved to Seattle in 2020 to start her fellowship. She had been researching inflammatory bowel disease since 2011, examining disease complications, the interplay between inflammation and mood, and interactions between the gut microbiome, diet, and the pathogenesis of intestinal inflammation. While in the Gibbons Lab, she added computational methods to her clinical and statistical tool kit in order to identify potential targets for innovative dietary and therapeutic interventions in inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Levine went on to SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where she was appointed Assistant Professor.
